Program Leader - Part Time
The Program Leader, Program Assistant, interns and volunteers provide guidance and assistance to a maximum of 6 participants per session, as they engage in community-based activities. The Program Leader will provide direction, advise and mentor staff, interns and volunteers, model communication strategies, and pair staff/interns/volunteers with participants, taking the lead as necessary to address unanticipated challenges that may arise during the day. Occasionally, minimal assistance with changing clothes or personal hygiene may be necessary. Effective communication with staff, parents and community partners is essential.
Required:
Availability 2-3 days per week, 8:45 am - 2:15 pm
Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education, therapeutic recreation, vocational rehabilitation, social services, or related field
Excellent communication skills
Minimum of 5 years experience managing behaviors in a proactive, creative and positive manner, and working with a variety of disabilities (especially autism)
Driver's license, clean driving record, and minimum age 25 required to drive our 15-passenger van
