Program Leader - Part Time

Are you driven by a desire to positively impact the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities? Community Access Naperville (CAN) is seeking a Program Leader to become part of our team! The Program Leader offers guidance and support to a maximum of six individuals with developmental disabilities (I/DD) as they engage in our community-based program.

Each day, adult members of the I/DD community participate in CAN activities such as volunteering with local non-profits, enjoying meals together, and taking part in various recreational activities. The Program Leader is responsible for leading each daily session and providing direction to additional support staff and interns. They also tackle any unexpected challenges that may arise throughout the day. Occasionally, minimal assistance may be required for changing clothes or personal hygiene. Strong communication with staff, parents, and community partners is crucial for success.
Requirements

Availability 1-3 days per week, 8:45 am - 2:15 pm

Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education, therapeutic recreation, vocational rehabilitation, social services, or related field

Excellent communication skills

Minimum of 5 years experience managing behaviors in a proactive, creative and positive manner, and working with a variety of disabilities (especially autism)

Driver's license, clean driving record, and minimum age 25 required to drive our 15-passenger van
